The Anaheim Convention Center Takes Pride in Their Environmental & Social Change Initiatives
In partnership with ARAMARK, they have reduced fuel emissions by utilizing local farms for their cheese, wine and beef supplies. They have also partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, making them the first convention center to obtain this recognition. They only serve seafood on the Seafood Watch recommendations list. (This list illustrates seafood items as "Best Choices" or "Good Alternatives," and which ones you should "Avoid” based on how the fish are caught, farmed and if these practices have a negative effect on our environment.) They also serve only Fair Trade certified coffee, rBGH free liquid dairy products, certified cage free eggs, free range organic protein for their poultry, pork & lamb supplies.
In 2014 the Anaheim Convention Center worked with the Anaheim Public Utilities to install 300,000 square feet of solar panels on the roof of the facility. These panels generate an estimated 3.6 million kilowatt-hours of electric annually.
