As host country for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Department of Canadian Heritage wanted a one-of-a-kind national pavilion to showcase the country’s Olympic feats and cultural heritage and promote travel and tourism. GES created a 100% green, 5,000-square-foot structure packed with games, activities and memorabilia celebrating Canadian sports excellence and heritage.
Guests of all ages could face off in simulated winter sports competition, enjoy photo opportunities with athletes and the Olympic mascot, view the actual Olympic and Paralympic torches, and be inspired by stories of Canadian history and sports triumph. More than 110,000 visitors toured the Canadian Pavilion, with 7,178 guests on opening day.
