Taking EMO visitors on an immersive journey

At EMO Hannover 2017, Yamazaki Mazak unveiled its latest state-of-the-art precision machinery. Over six days, visitors would learn about new technologies and invest in up and coming engineering solutions. For such an important reveal, Mazak needed to capture the attention of visitors with a platform that would showcase the ‘unsurpassed performance and precision’ of both its machinery and market-leading customer after sale care.

“We are not the easiest of customers to work with. [The] GES team understands that we are under high pressure and they help us to deliver… We are very happy with the results, and very happy with the way it looks and presents our company and products”
Maja Foster, European Marketing Manager, Yamazaki Mazak

Together with Mazak, we designed an open, welcoming environment to take visitors on an immersive journey. To showcase the performance of Mazak’s CNC metal-cutting machines and explain its comprehensive product portfolio, we brought the live factory floor to EMO. With 16 miles worth of cable, 25 CNC machines (each over a tonne in weight) were made fully operational and positioned along the edge of the 3000sqm stand. Interactive totems next to each machine provided information about its application and capabilities. Inside, machines were connected to a control centre in the middle of the stand, allowing visitors to view live performance reports of all the machines from a single location.

We provided a full end-to-end live event solution to Mazak.
