GES
Launches Foreman Development Program
Union foremen are an important part
of the GES team and recently the company
launched a Foreman Development program
to provide additional leadership and
customer service training to foremen
in key cities.
“Professional and efficient
labor relations are critical to the
success of a show, the image of a city
and the satisfaction of our clients,” said
Anne Hanson, GES executive vice president
of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
Union foremen and the workers they
supervise play an important role in
the service customers receive, and
this program provides additional training.
Offices
in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles,
New York, Orlando and San Francisco
have received Foundational training
which covers GES’ Core
Values – Integrity, Our People,
Great Service, Growth, Courage, Innovations
and Winning; Leadership Skills; Customer
Service; Safety and Risk Management.
In addition to the Foundational training,
we have implemented GES operational
best practices training in Chicago,
New York and Orlando.
Prior to launching the program, GES
met with various union business representatives
for their input and backing of the
program. The unions recognized the
value that the Foreman Development
program provides and gave their support.
The trade show unions offer a skilled,
efficient and a readily available workforce,
and by partnering with the unions,
GES can build a base for collaboration,
resulting in even better service to
our customers.
GES recognizes the importance of
collaboration between Official Services
Contractors and the unions as critical
to improving service and controlling
costs within our industry. This is
a long-term program and it will be
expanded and improved upon in the coming
years.
